Last night, I finally got around to seeing Ocean’s 13 (O:13). Yeah, I know. I’m about 1.5 weeks late on this one, but times are hard and I do this for free. Moving on, I saw it and I loved it. This is a film that really should be subtitled “How to Be Cool Without Even Trying.” Read on and I’ll tell you why.

Okay. I am excited about I Am Legend. I’ve been excited about it since I heard it was coming. Now the poster’s been revealed and the trailer is supposed to be showing before Ocean’s 13. Baller, right?
It’s got all of the elements of my perfect film. I love vampires. I love survival horror (i.e. zombie films). I love Will Smith… not like that. I mean I love his films. The man has an impressive resume.
If this film turns out to be as good as the book it’s based on, we have a winner folks.

I finally got around to seeing Blood Diamond. I was supposed to see this film on the opening weekend, but a miscommunication with a young lady meant that I missed it. Then a bunch of newer films came out and Blood Diamond was lost in a mix of too many films and not enough ticket money.
So, I found myself at the local second-run theatre that shows all of the not-so-new releases. I was a little shocked to see that it was playing, because I could have sworn it was already out on DVD.
Truth be told, this film has been reviewed hundreds of times over. There is no real NEED to reinvent the wheel here. Most of you have probably already seen this movie. So what’s the point? Well, I have gained an interesting perspective on the film that I think you, our loyal readers, would be interested in hearing… er, reading.

I wasn’t going to write a brilliantbrown review of director David Fincher’s Zodiac, but I changed my mind. That being said, this will be a pretty short review, not because I’m lazy or tired (which I am) but because a) there are already dozens of reviews out there and b) there’s really not much to say about this film.
That’s not to say that it’s a bad movie, because it wasn’t. The thing about Zodiac is that it’s not what you’re expecting it to be. But then again, most of Fincher’s films aren’t (e.g. Fight Club and Se7en). The tagline on the poster is “there’s more than one way to lose your life to a killer.” That’s what this film is about.

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed a film and considering we’ve got a whole category dedicated to the topic of film review, I think it’s about time I had a look at one.
Monday, I did something that I haven’t done since I was in High School. I theatre hopped. I went to see Black Snake Moan (mostly because I see anything with Sir Samuel L. Jackson in it) and thereafter, I ninja’d into the last showing of Zodiac. All in all, $10 well spent.
