Earlier this week, I stated the blatantly apparent when I stated that Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem was a horrible, horrible piece of non-art. Well, you can just call me Capt. Obvious, because I just finished watching John Rambo and I’ve got more of the same. Ready?
John Rambo is an incredibly violent movie… there I said it. Yeah. Anyone who knows anything about Rambo movies can tell you that. But the reason John Rambo is worth an entire review, and not just a twitter, is because in addition to being violent beyond my expectations, it’s actually pretty good.

I watched Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem last night. Here’s my quick, and I mean REALLY QUICK, impression:
It’s a fairly predictable and, frankly, disposable film. AvP2:R good example of all that is wrong with Hollywood blockbusters. This is a film that’s designed to get butts into seats with little regard for their experience once the the ticket has been sold.

If you have issues with suspending disbelief, then skip Speed Racer. If you don’t have a sense of humor, then skip Speed Racer. If your inner child is all grown up, then skip Speed Racer.
This is a film that makes no apologies about what it is and what it isn’t. This is a film about racing, crashing and speed. This is a film for kids… and I recommend you see it.

If seeing Marlon Wayans in full battle gear doesn’t disturb you just a little bit, then I don’t know what will. What we have here is the youngest Wayans brother in full costume as Ripcord for the upcoming GI Joe motion picture. I’m looking at the cast list on IMDb for the other black characters and I see Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje from Oz playing Heavy Duty, but don’t see where anyone’s playing Roadblock (which is cool, because I hate Roadblock).
According to Tyler Durden:
…an exclusive look at the cast of next summers “G.I. Joe”, starring Rachel Nichols as Scarlett, Channing Tatum as Duke, Karolina Korkova as Cover Girl, Marlon Wayans as Ripcord, Byung-hun Lee as Storm Shadow, Sienna Miller as The Baroness, Ray Park as Snake Eyes, and Dennis Quaid as Hawk.
Pictures of Ray Park as Snake Eyes have been floating around the web for a few weeks and I have to say, that’s one bad-ass looking ninja! And we’ve seen Park’s work as Darth Maul in Star Wars:Ep 1, so we know the choreography will be EPIC. But seeing the rest of the cast in the X-Men meets the Matrix black rubber suits, has dampened my enthusiasm a bit. Especially, the goofy looking, white suited Storm Shadow.

I keep asking myself why do they keep making these movies. Tyler Perry is obviously talented enough to expand and do something less buffoonish.
Meanwhile, somewhere in America, my little sister is jumping for joy!
