This pretty much describes how I stumbled across an article on EbonyJet.com which used Aaron McGruder’s The Boondocks to point out the lack of and resistance to satire on the black cultural landscape. It’s a good read and I definitely recommend that you check it out.

There’s an interesting article over on Undercover Black Man about blacks being perceived as monkeys, which I thought was interesting because I didn’t think people still thought like that. It’s an interesting read that goes into depth about some of the history of this egregious stereotype.
Additionally on Ask This Black Woman, there’s an article about the phenomenon of BBFs (Best Black Friends) in American cinema and television. It’s a shorter read, but there is an interesting perspective to be gained. Check this out as well and participate in the discussion taking place on both of these fine sites.
When I first saw the video below, I thought it was funny in a “Boondocks” kinda way. But upon subsequent viewings, I’m thinking, “not so much.”
