If I hear one more thing about Anna Nicole Smith, so help me I’m gonna snap! Has the American press lost it’s collective damn mind? Did I miss the whole end of the War in Iraq? Is Osama bin Ladin sitting up in a federal prison awaiting execution? Did we solve that whole thing about N. Korea having nukes? Has racial injustice been eliminated? Did we get that whole Darfur thing sorted out?

Must have been because that’s the only reason I can think of for every major news outlets devoting to this floozy’s death. People, this does not qualify as news, it might be worthy of noting, but some D-list celebrity’s death does NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE merit a whole weekend’s worth of news coverage! This culture of celebrity worship that we have developed in America is rid-damn-diculous!

There is a darker side to this story. I have a theory as to why this has received so much press. Smith died on Thursday, so why were they still running stories on Saturday, the day that Barak Obama announced his official bid for presidency? The solution is simple, the right wing media didn’t want to give the black man his shine. Call me crazy if you want to, but you know it’s true.
