Bill Cosby’s Pound Cake speech for 2004 is an oldie. But every time I read it, I have a different reaction. Sometimes I’m in total agreement with Dr. Cosby, at other times I think the rant is hilarious. Sometimes I read it and I feel that Cosby is oversimplifying the issue. Here’s the part of the speech/rant that’s most often quoted.
Wassup everybody, it’s been awhile since I actually wrote a meaningful article, so what better time than now to fire up the old keyboard! I’ve been listening to Will.I.Am’s, Songs About Girls, masterful production, one of the better albums of 2007. Anyways, instead of posting the album as I normally do, I’m going to use the song titles to re-create my own experiences with women, with a little insight added in to boot….

I’m sure he’s trying to make a statement. I assume he’s trying to get people talking. I also recognize that it’s not written in stone, yet. But I wonder how far the creative envelope can be pushed before it becomes just reckless and self destructive.
