5 Questions: Sinnamon Love

Sinnamon Love

Wassup folks, we’ve been on hiatus this past week, I wish this was my real job, working on the website daily, but unfortunately, this doesn’t pay the bills, so it’s been kinda spotty lately. We do appreciate all the support and promise to remain as consistent as possible.

So, what’s happened since the last site update…the unfortunate Virginia Tech incident, prayers go out to all families affected, I urge everyone to donate to the Virgina Tech memorial fund, http://www.vt.edu/tragedy/memorial_fund.php

If you have to ask, you’ll never know…

Who remembers SOLO? Anybody? Okay, who remembers the song “Where do you want me to put it?” I knew that’d jog some memories… I don’t know why this song’s been stuck in my head all week, but now it’s gonna be stuck in yours. Enjoy.

I can think of a certain Akinyele song that I could play next, but we won’t go there today. Peace everybody. Have a wonderful weekend.

Slap on the Wrist Too Little for Don Imus?

I don’t know how many people have been following the developments of the comments made by Don Imus, a radio talk show host and writer, on Tuesday in reference to the Rutgers women’s basketball team. His exact words to describe them were “nappy headed hoes” and “jiggaboos”. If you haven’t seen it, the video is below:

Imus was subsequently suspended for 2 weeks. My question to our readers this week is do you think that suspension is enough? Or should he have been fired? Do you believe his speech is protected under the First Amendment? I’m pretty sure that regular readers know where I stand on this, so I’m posing the question to you.
