Please Replace “Irreplaceable”, I’m Sick of It.

BeyoncĂ©’s so fine, I almost hate to do this…

I know that it’s normally AJ who’s slapping wrists and shouting “Bad!” around here, but I have to say something about this, but first a quick show of hands, how many of you think Irreplaceable is your jam? Admit it ladies, this song comes on and you’re cranking radios up and rushing dance floors across America.

I’m not hating on BeyoncĂ© here, but I really have to ask this question: Why are women latching on to Irreplaceable as the new Black Woman National Anthem? It’s crazy. Are people not hearing the same song I’m hearing? or are people so shortsighted that they overlook the most serious error in this song’s lyrics? An error so blatant, that it automatically makes the women who crank this song and sing it look like total morons.

There’s been a lot of buzz on “teh interwebs” and in conversations about Stomp the Yard and it’s got me thinking… not just about this film, but about the state of black cinema as a whole. I must say that the more I think, the more pissed off I get. Allow me to share my thoughts on the subject of the deterioration of black cinema.
