For those of you who have not seen it, this is a clip of Michael Richards, aka Kramer from the popular Seinfeld show, doing a comedy stand up and inexplicably getting into a spat with an audience member whom he accused of interrupting his act. Richards made use of racial slurs by repeatedly called the audience member “nigger” and when the audience member fired back and told Richards that his commentary was “uncalled for”, Richards went on to say, “thats what happens when you interrupt a white man”.

Grown Rules

 

Now that I’m 25 years old, I’ve begun to notice certain behaviors displayed by  the younger crowd that make me shake my head like a 50 year old white man watching a Lil Jon video.  Some of the behavior can be attributed to the “sheep” mentality that all young folks experience. 

You know what I’m talking about; a lot of us out there wore baggy jeans, Cross Colors, and Starter® jackets all because they were considered cool at one point and time.  Unfortunately, there are some folks that don’t grow out of this juvenile state.  Growing up isn’t necessarily about wearing suits 24/7 or reducing the amount of rap music that you listen to, it’s about coming to grips with who you are as an individual and developing a supreme level of comfort and confidence with that. 

For some reason, I see too many people that are still doing things that teenagers do to impress their friends and others around them.  I will share a list of a select few things that I noticed as what DEFINITELY not to do past the age of 17, we shall tag this list as GROWN RULES.
